Nottingham Forest Are Not Planning to Sack Ange Postecoglou; Liverpool Keeper Out; England Team Updates
Ange Postecoglou Safe - For Now
As of the early hours today, Nottingham Forest had no plans to fire their manager but the volatile situation of the team and its owner Evangelos Marinakis means that circumstances may shift rapidly.
Supporters made their voices known on the previous day, calling for the departure of the man who replaced an local favorite and it is challenging to reverse the sentiment once that occurs.
Postecoglou is Marinakis’ man, the club chief having lined him up long before Nuno Espirito Santo was dismissed. All involved with the club anticipated a time of adjustment but to be without a victory in six games and suffering defeats at their own ground to Sunderland and Midtjylland were not anticipated outcomes when he arrived last month.
Postecoglou was intended to change the style but he has his tactical philosophy, which is distinctly unlike to his predecessor, so there is an understanding that these things take time. Patience, however, is not a quality often observed at the club. The upcoming league fixtures are against Newcastle, Chelsea and Bournemouth, so things are not going to get easier for Postecoglou.
Alisson Out for The Reds
Arne Slot has been speaking:
“Alisson is not part of the squad this weekend and he won’t travel to his national team for the national team matches. The forward is returning to training today, let’s see where he is. The applies similarly for Frederico [Chiesa]. It hinges on how quickly they heal.
“I will be surprised if he [Alisson] will be there for the first game after the international break. After that progress may be a bit quicker or a bit more gradual. It’s hard to predict. I’m not a doctor so I cannot tell you if it is the identical issue.”
Giorgi Mamardashvili is set to start instead of Alisson.
“I believe we’ve observed against the Saints how seamlessly he has fitted in. We were aware we were bringing in a high-quality shot-stopper. When he made his debut that’s a demonstration he’s adapted excellently to the team. It’s expected because he’s a quality goalkeeper. Now he can do what we’ve had to do so many occasions in the previous seasons replacing Alisson, like we’ve done so many times before.”

Supporters' Response at Forest's Stadium
The scenes were nearly unprecedented on a sobering evening, many local fans chanting: “Your job is at risk.” Then the same fans twisted the knife, voicing the name of his predecessor Nuno Espírito Santo, with a number turning towards the owner watching on with his own large personal screen in the directors’ box. This resulted in grim viewing.
Preview of Matches
Without a loss in the league since their Friday night opener, the Cherries early momentum has been stalled by consecutive draws: at their stadium to the Magpies and at Elland Road last week. The Cottagers travel to the Vitality on tonight, presenting Andoni Iraola’s side a good opportunity of returning to victory and climbing the table. After a turbulent summer, the manager has aimed for consistency in his team selection.
Trailing 2-1 at their opponents, the coach made a triple change to restore three usual starters – David Brooks, Alex Scott and Marcus Tavernier – to his starting eleven and was rewarded with a late leveller. Bournemouth have also preserved solidity at the back, allowing only one goal in several matches between the away games to strong opponents. Marcos Senesi, often playing in an otherwise brand-new back five, has been crucial to the squad's cohesion. The centre-back earned praise from the boss for his performances and threat at attacking set-pieces – as shown by his headed assist for the leveling goal at the venue.
